The result was the same at the beginning of the spring semester as it was in the fall. As a result, the Fort Hays State University staff kept bragging rights in its corner, defeating the FHSU faculty 2-1 in a faculty-staff volleyball match Friday in Gross Memorial Coliseum.

After the teams split the first two games, the staff claimed the trophy by winning the third and deciding game by a 25-18 score.

The staff also won the inaugural faculty-staff softball game at the beginning of the fall semester in August.

The volleyball match concluded a day of activities that began with a town hall meeting in the Memorial Union that featured a celebration of university accomplishments, a facilities planning update and a draft of the university's strategic plan.

The second semester of the 2015-16 school year begins Tuesday, Jan. 19.
