FHSU Department of Biological Sciences claims recognition at KAS meeting

HAYS, Kan. -- Four Fort Hays State University biology students won recognition at this year's Kansas Academy of Science meeting.
Nick Varvel, Olathe freshman, was the 2nd-place undergraduate poster presentation winner. Tej Man Tamang, Ramechhap, Nepal, graduate student, won the 2nd-place graduate student poster presentation.
Keri Caudle, Hays graduate student, won the 3rd-place graduate student poster presentation and the 3rd-place graduate student oral presentation.
Five faculty members accompanied the students at the KAS meeting, including Brian Maricle, associate professor of biological sciences.
"All the best posters were from our department, and all the best student presentations were from our department. I am very proud of our students, and I am very proud of our department," said Maricle.
