HAYS, Kan., (July 25, 2016) -- The Fort Hays State University Alumni Association invites area alumni and friends to participate in the 2016 Garden City Tiger Golf Tournament on Friday, Aug. 5.

Registration begins at 8 a.m. with tee time at 9 a.m. at Buffalo Dunes Golf Course, 5685 S. U.S. Highway 83, Garden City. Tickets are $75 per person (includes green fee, meal and entry gift).

Held annually, the tournament brings together area alumni and friends for a day on the greens sharing in the Tiger spirit all while raising funds for area students to attend FHSU.

Mark Johnson, FHSU men's basketball coach, will be the special guest.

Teams of four are encouraged to register by contacting the alumni office toll free at 1-888-351-3591 or online at www.goforthaysstate.com/events. Sponsorship opportunities also are available online or by contacting the Alumni Association.

Alumni hosts are Josh Biera and Abram Nelson.

Two other tournaments also will be held this summer: Friday, July 29, in Hoxie and Saturday, July 30, in Liberal.

Established in 1916, the Fort Hays State University Alumni Association serves FHSU graduates by identifying needs and providing solutions. More than 66,000 graduates live throughout the United States and in 74 countries. FHSU chapters are active across the states of Kansas, Oklahoma and Texas.
