The Global Leadership Project in the Center for Civic leadership at Fort Hays State University declared its second annual Astounding Race a success. The goal of the event is to educate Family Day participants on the world and its cultures in an entertaining way.
The winning team finished all of the stations in less than 30 minutes and won free subs donated by Jimmy John's Gourmet Sandwiches. Second-and third-place finishers received donated gift certificates to Taco Shop and Pizza Hut.
The race consisted of eight stations highlighting topics such as the Summer Olympics in Rio, world religions, hunger and poverty, and ethnic cuisines. Participants were given clues to attend each station, which were located in buildings and throughout campus.
FHSU's Family Day 2016, hosted by the Office of Student Affairs, was held in conjunction with the race.
