The Fort Hays State University Leadership 310 Class, Water Wise Tigers, recently hosted a free, family fun fest and nature trail walk at the Hays Medical Center.
The purpose of the event was to educate community members about the native vegetation that Hays Medical Center has installed on its land and what it does for the water quality in Hays.
"We had several educational stations that allowed visitors to get hands-on involvement with learning about pollutants in water and storm water protection," said Kristin Conor, Water Wise Tigers member.
"The event went well. About 100 to 150 people showed up, and all entities involved with the event were pleased with how it went," said Conor.
