04/07/17
HAYS, Kan. -- International and domestic students at Fort Hays State University visited the Capitol in Topeka over spring break.
The students sat in the Chamber with Ellis County's Representative Eber Phelps to see first-hand how state government works.
A specially-guided tour of the Brown vs. Board of Education National Historic Site, which ended legal segregation in the public schools in America, was also included.
The next field trip for international and domestic students will be Saturday, April 15 to the Cosmosphere in Hutchinson. To sign up for the trip contact the Office for Intercultural Integration, at m_shahidi@fhsu.edu.
