HAYS, Kan. -- Matthew Means, director of the Honors College and associate professor of music at Fort Hays State University, will present at the National Collegiate Honors Council's national conference in Atlanta this fall.

Means, along with honors staff from other universities, will present three sessions: "Pressure to Grow: Meeting Enrollment Management Demands," "Honors in the Time of State Funding Cuts" and "A Second Chance at a First Shot: Honors College Building."

The sessions were selected through a competitive national process and will be attended by honors executives, faculty, students and supporters.

"I feel incredibly honored, and humbled, to have been selected to present at the NCHC national conference," said Means, "and I am excited to be of service to my colleagues in the realm of honors education."

The FHSU Honors College, which is entering its third year, has surpassed enrollment and retention goals and continues to attract high-achieving students from across the country. The program focuses on academic and co-curricular achievement, as well as personal and professional development.

"We have learned so much since the beginning of our program. If I can do anything to help colleagues that share our goals of serving high-achieving students, I will," said Means.
