Luke Johnson, former instructor of music and theatre at Fort Hays State University, was announced as a quarterfinalist for the 2018 Music Educator Award presented by the Recording Academy and the Grammy Museum.

Johnson, who currently teaches K-12 music in Victoria, is one of 197 educators to receive the honor.

The award recognizes teachers who demonstrate a commitment towards music education and who have made lasting contributions in the field. It is open to all current U.S. music teachers. Educators can be nominated by anyone, including themselves.
