Fourteen students and one faculty member recently traveled to Camp Tomah Shinga, near Junction City, to perform community service projects through Tigers In Service.

The group cleaned the dining hall, leveled gravel roads and split wood. Camp Tomah Shinga is a faith-based summer camp.

The event was led by Tigers In Service co-coordinators Carla Parra-Martinez, Garden City senior majoring in communication studies, Anneka Sundell, Salina junior majoring in criminal justice, and Dr. Justin Greenleaf, assistant professor of leadership studies.

Tigers In Service, an initiative in FHSU's Center for Civic Leadership, is a student-operated program that acts as a clearinghouse for college students who want to participate in community service activities.

Abigail Castillo, Stratton, Colo., sophomore, is majoring in general studies.
Mikayla Conaway, Centennial, Colo., freshman, is majoring in biology.

Ana Cruz is a freshman.
Caitlyn Edwards, Spring Hill, is a Kansas Academy of Mathematics and Science student.
Elizabeth Emerson, Hays sophomore, is majoring in environmental geology.
Yanjun Li, graduating student, is majoring in computer networking.
Amanda Ray, Norton junior, is majoring in nursing.
Kodi Smith, Belleville freshman, is majoring in biology.
Kaitlyn Sundell, Salina sophomore, is majoring in elementary education.
