HAYS, Kan. - Five students and four faculty members from Fort Hays State University recently attended the Kansas Association of Teachers of Mathematics Conference in Topeka.

Faculty and students attended presentations by mathematic teachers from Kansas K-12 schools, universities and colleges.

Dr. Lanee Young, professor of mathematics at FHSU, presented "The Not-so-Typical Box Problem"; Dr. Keith Dreiling, professor of mathematics and chair of the Department of Mathematics, presented "Spirographs and Hats"; Dr. Janet Stramel, associate professor of teacher education, presented "Welcome First Timers"; and Dr. Bill Weber, assistant professor of mathematics, presented "The Classic Locker Problem (With a Twist!)."

The students who attended are listed alphabetically by hometown.

HAYS (67601): Chelsea Zimmerman is a senior majoring in mathematics.

LIBERAL (67901): Perla Camacho-Rosales is a junior majoring in mathematics.

LINCOLN (67455): Breanna Meier is a junior majoring in biology.

LOVELAND, Colo. (80537): Samantha Villarreal is majoring in elementary education.

MARQUETTE (67464): Lance Hulse is majoring in mathematics.
