FHSU recognized at NASPA Region IV-West Conference

HAYS, Kan. - Three representatives from Fort Hays State University recently earned awards at the NASPA: Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education Region IV-West Conference.
NASPA is the national association of student personnel administrators.
Dr. Brett Bruner, director of transition and student conduct, received the Campus-Based Literature/Research Publication Award for his research project "Paying it Forward: First-Generation Latinx/o/a Students' Sense of Responsibility." Bruner presented the project with Dr. Keegan Nichols, vice president for student services at Arkansas Tech University, and Dr. Shannon Breske, assistant teaching professor of management at the University of Missouri-Columbia.
Alex Collins, Hays graduate student studying higher education student affairs, and graduate assistant for fraternity and sorority life, received the Kansas Graduate Student Rising Star Award.
Melanie Arellano-Luna, Kansas City senior majoring in social work, received the Kansas Undergraduate Rising Star Award.
