FHSU's Institute for New Media Studies to host "interactive holiday video cards" event
HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State University’s Institute for New Media Studies will host an event to create interactive holiday video cards from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. Monday, Dec. 4, and Wednesday, Dec. 6, in the Cody Commons in the Memorial Union.
“Step into our custom-built augmented reality video booth and choose from a number of backgrounds and decorations, such as Victor E. Tiger’s winter cabin and Santa’s sleigh,” said Dr. Gordon Carlson, director of the institute.
“Bring your HD video to life by holding a snowy forest, Christmas celebration or virtual gift box right in the palm of your hand,” he said.
Once the process is complete, a Web link to the card will be provided to share with friends and family or to be downloaded to a digital device.
“Be sure not to miss this opportunity you cannot experience anywhere else,” said Carlson.
The event is free and open to the Tiger community and the public. Optional donations will be accepted to go to the institute’s student scholarship fund.
