FHSU sophomore earns recognition at competition for business students

HAYS, Kan. – Allison Railsback, a Mankato sophomore majoring in agricultural business and agriculture education at Fort Hays State University, recently received recognition at the Kansas Phi Beta Lambda Awards of Excellence Program in El Dorado. Railsback competed in administrative technology, business communication, computer applications and business decision making (team), bringing home first place in all events. She also placed second in microeconomics.
In addition to the competitions, Railsback completed her duties as the 2017-18 state president by running all general sessions and leading a workshop. She was recognized as a Kansas PBL Who's Who recipient and recognized for completing the executive level of the Career and Membership Achievement program.
Future Business Leaders of America-Phi Beta Lambda Inc., the premier student-led business organization, is a nonprofit education association. With a quarter-million members and advisers in more than 6,500 active middle school, high school and college chapters worldwide, its mission is to bring business and education together in a positive working relationship through innovative leadership and career development programs.
Railsback will have the opportunity to compete at the National Leadership Conference this summer in Baltimore, MD.
