Dr. Brett Bruner selected for NASPA award

Dr. Brett Bruner, director of transition and student conduct at Fort Hays State University, and two colleagues from other universities were awarded a research grant for their study on first-generation college students.
He and his colleagues were awarded the 2018 Parent and Family Relations Knowledge Community Research Grant from NASPA: Student Affairs Administrators in Higher Education.
Their study was "Perceived Role of Parents and Family Members of First-Generation College Students on Transition, Persistence, and Success." They received their awards at NASPA’s recent conference in Philadelphia.
Bruner’s colleagues were Dr. Keegan Nichols, vice president for student services at Arkansas Tech University, and Dr. Lisa Baumgartner, associate professor of educational administration and human resource development at Texas A&M University.
