Great Bend area students recognized for scholarships at Fort Hays State program

HAYS, Kan. – Students from central Kansas were recognized at a recent Student Recognition Program in Great Bend for the scholarships they have been awarded from Fort Hays State University for the 2018-19 academic year.
The annual Great Bend SRP primarily serves students from Barton, Pawnee, Pratt, Rice, Russell and Stafford counties in addition to the cities of Bison and Otis in Rush County. Students from outside the primary area are also welcome.
Students are arranged alphabetically by high school. Cutlines are provided for the photos.
Central Plains High School
Darian Hubbard, a 2018 Central Plains High School graduate, received a $1,500 Hays City Scholar Award and a $900 Academic Opportunity Award in psychology. Hubbard, daughter of Casey and Melissa Hubbard, Claflin, plans to major in psychology. Kylie Lamatsch, a 2018 Central Plains High School graduate, received a $1,500 Hays City Scholar Award and a $500 Academic Opportunity Award in nursing.
