Kearney area students recognized for scholarships at Fort Hays State program

HAYS, Kan. – Students from the southwestern Nebraska area were recognized at a recent Student Recognition Program in Kearney for the scholarships they have been awarded from Fort Hays State University, Hays, Kan., for the 2018-19 academic year.
Students from 14 Nebraska counties are invited to the annual Kearney SRP: Adams, Buffalo, Dawson, Franklin, Frontier, Furnas, Gosper, Hall, Harlan, Kearney, Lincoln, Phelps, Red Willow and Webster.
Students are arranged alphabetically by high school. Cutlines are provided for the photos.
Alma High School
Erica Barwick, a 2018 Alma High School graduate, received a $1,000 Traditions Scholar Award. Barwick, daughter of Bruce and Laurel Barwick, Orleans, plans to major in agriculture. Elm Creek High School

Hampton High School
Noelle Rust, a 2018 Hampton High School graduate, received a $1,000 Traditions Scholar Award and a $900 Academic Opportunity Award in criminal justice. Holdrege High School
Auston Marshall, a 2018 Holdrege High School graduate, received a $1,000 Traditions Scholar Award and a $900 Academic Opportunity Award in applied technology.
