Overland Park area students recognized for scholarships at Fort Hays State program

HAYS, Kan. – Students from the eastern Kansas region were recognized at a recent Student Recognition Program in Overland Park for the scholarships they have been awarded by Fort Hays State University for the 2018-19 academic year.
The Overland Park SRP primarily serves students from Allen, Anderson, Atchison, Bourbon, Doniphan, Douglas, Franklin, Johnson, Leavenworth, Linn, Miami and Wyandotte counties. Students from outside the primary area and students from Missouri are also welcome.
Students are arranged alphabetically by high school. Cutlines are provided for the photos.
Anderson County High School
Averi Wilson, a 2018 Anderson County High School graduate, received a $1,500 Hays City Scholar Award and a $500 Academic Opportunity Award in nursing. Baldwin High School
Abigail Hayes, a 2018 Baldwin High School graduate, received a $1,000 Traditions Scholar Award and a $500 Academic Opportunity Award in criminal justice. Hayes, daughter of Kenneth Hayes and Jennifer Fultan, Baldwin City, plans to major in criminal justice. Dylan Linder, a 2018 Baldwin High School graduate, received a $2,000 University Scholar Award and a $900 Academic Opportunity Award in physics. Blue Valley West High School
Alberto Kitts, a 2018 Blue Valley West High School graduate, received a $1,000 Traditions Scholar Award, a $1,000 FHSU Hispanic College Institute Commerce Bank of Hays Scholarship and a $500 Academic Opportunity Award in education.
