Fort Hays State University’s Dr. David Snow, director of entrepreneurship, won two awards at the Small Business Institute’s annual conference in Orlando. Snow won these awards for acting as the faculty advisor to student consulting teams.
Students conduct semester long consulting engagements for small businesses, giving students experiential learning and real-world experience while providing clients much needed business analysis and recommendations.
The completed reports are submitted to the Small Business Institute for entry into its Project of the Year competition to select the best student consulting projects.
One team of three students won the graduate specialized projects category and another team of three students won the graduate comprehensive category.
“Recognition from SBI for my students’ achievements is an honor,” said Snow. “Students consistently tell me the consulting course is the most valuable experience of their entire education.”
