FHSU graduate awarded fellowship

HAYS, Kan. – Amy Hammett, a spring 2019 graduate of Fort Hays State University with a Master of Science in special education – gifted, will spend this summer at the Emeryville, Calif., campus of the Concord Consortium after being awarded a Robert F. Tinker Fellowship.
Hammett, who is from Haven, applied for the fellowship in order to partner with other data science experts in spearheading the field of data science education. She will work this summer on ready-to-use, place-based instructional materials for teachers and students to develop data science skills with students using readily accessible, free tools.
