US Air Force Academy band to perform at FHSU

HAYS, Kan. – The Falconaires jazz ensemble, part of the United States Air Force Academy Band, will perform a free concert at Fort Hays State University at 7 p.m. Monday, Oct. 7, in the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center.
Under the command of Lt. Col. Daniel L. Price, the band proudly represents the Air Force Academy and its mission to educate, train and inspire men and women to become officers of character, motivated to lead the U.S. Air Force in service to our nation.
One of nine performing ensembles within the Academy Band, the Falconaires jazz ensemble is 18 professional, active-duty airman musicians from Colorado Springs, Colo.
The Falconaires play a major role in cultivating our national heritage through America’s only indigenous musical genre, jazz. The evening will feature an eclectic mix of traditional and contemporary jazz that celebrates our national heritage.
For over 60 years, the Academy Band has used the power of music to honor our nation’s heroes, inspire Air Force personnel and the nation they serve, produce innovative musical programs and products and communicate Air Force excellence to millions around the world.
Sponsored by FHSU, the concert is free and open to the public.
Tickets can be picked up from the Memorial Union Student Service Center or online at eventbrite.com. Attendees do not need a ticket, but those with tickets will be seated first.
