FHSU’s chapter of PRSSA to attend conference in San Diego

HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State University’s chapter of the Public Relations Student Society of America will attend the 2019 PRSSA International Conference Oct. 18 to Oct. 22 in San Diego.
Ten students will attend the conference with chapter advisor Dr. Hsin-Yen Yang, associate professor of communication studies.
The conference will allow attendees to learn new and traditional methods of public relations. Students will have the opportunity to learn from professionals in the PR field.
“It will be amazing to experience a place so different from Hays,” said Anna Deal, Hutchinson junior, chapter president. “All of the members are so excited to get to network with and learn from other students and professionals in the PR field.”
Learning opportunities will include breakout sessions, keynote addresses, panel speakers and networking events.
“The students and I will give a public presentation to share our new knowledge about strategic communication with our entire campus when we return,” said Yang. “Sharing our conference experience has become our chapter’s tradition.”
PRSSA is the foremost organization for students interested in public relations and communications. The organization serves over 11,000 students at 300-plus chapters in the United States, Argentina, Colombia and Peru.
