Fort Hays Singers return from snow-shortened fall concert tour
HAYS, Kan. – Dr. Terry Crull regards the recent fall 2019 tour of the Fort Hays Singers as a success even though they were snowed out of their first stop and had to end a day early because more snow threatened.
“The Fort Hays Singers returned Monday night at midnight from a wonderful concert tour to and from Colorado,” said Crull, associate professor of music and theatre and director of the Fort Hays Singers.
Snow forced the Singers to cancel the first stop, a concert near Colorado Springs, but they performed a full concert and two masses in Estes Park, Colo., where they were also able to conduct a sight-seeing tour of Rocky Mountain National Park.
Two more concerts and a high school assembly in St. Francis concluded the tour, before the group returned home to beat another round of snow.
Assemblies in Atwood and Beloit high schools will be rescheduled for the spring semester.
