Local students awarded music education scholarships

HAYS, Kan. – Five music students at Fort Hays State University have been awarded scholarships by the Northwest Kansas Music Educators Association.
The association awards these scholarships to students who are seeking to become music educators in K-12 schools.
The scholarships were presented at the Northwest Kansas KMEA mini-convention concert series in December at the Beach/Schmidt Performing Arts Center on the FHSU campus.
All five are majoring in music education:
Lebanon (66952): Jacob Long, senior.Hays (67601): Rachelle Lumpkins, senior, and Hayden Sillmon, senior.
Hoxie (67740): Rhiannon Mullins, senior, and Tabor Rucker, senior.
