FHSU grad students present research in summit at state Capitol
HAYS, Kan. – Local students attending Fort Hays State University were among the graduate students chosen to present their research at the recent Capitol Graduate Research Summit in Topeka.
It was the 17th annual summit for selected graduate students to demonstrate the fruits of their research to legislators, government officials and the public at large.
The students are listed in alphabetical order with their hometowns, majors and the titles of their research presentations.
Paul Hess, Dallas, Texas (75218), majoring in biology, and Spencer McCue, Hays (67601), majoring in chemistry: “RNA Interference of Genes within the Unfolded Protein Response of the Pea Aphid (Acyrthosiphon pisum).”
Jenny Niblock, Colby (67701), in FHSU’s Doctor of Nursing Practice program: “Increasing Advanced Directive Conversations and Completions in Primary Care.”
Tatiyanna Ray, Grand Prairie, Texas (75050), majoring in professional studies (criminal justice): “Wrongful Convictions Stemming from False Confessions.”
BingBing Tao, Yongcheng, China, majoring in higher education student affairs: “An Autoethnographic Exploration of Language Acculturation.”
Jordan Sparrow-Antonio, Brighton, Colo. (80601), majoring in psychology: “The Propensity to Make Attributions to Prejudice Moderates the Acceptability of Racial Microaggressions.”
