Tom Hoenig to provide keynote for Robbins Banking Institute Lecture Series

HAYS, Kan. - The Robbins Banking Institute Lecture Series to be held Oct. 5 will feature Tom Hoenig, a highly regarded expert on economic and monetary policy. The event, sponsored by FHSU’s Robbins Banking Institute, Kansas Bankers Association, and Fort Hays State Alumni, will focus on information impacting businesses, consumers, and government.
Hoenig, vice chairman/director of the Federal Deposit Insurance Corporation, began that role in 2012. From 1991 to 2011, he served as the eighth president of the Tenth District Federal Reserve Bank of Kansas City. Hoenig is a distinguished senior fellow at the Mercatus Center, a George Mason University research center.
FHSU students, faculty, staff, state and local policymakers, bankers, business, and community leaders are invited to attend. Complimentary coffee and breakfast will be provided beginning at 8 a.m. in the Robbins Center at FHSU, One Tiger Place. Hoenig’s keynote address is scheduled for 10 a.m., followed by a question-and-answer session. Closing remarks by Tommy Powell, director of the FHSU Robbins Banking Institute, will conclude the event at 11:45 a.m.
