HAYS, Kan. – Many reflect on their time as college students and remember the friends and opportunities that made their experience extraordinary. Behind those memorable activities is often the struggle to gain enough funding to make them possible. This holiday season, you can help remove these barriers for Fort Hays State University students by making a gift on Giving Tuesday to one of seven unique and life-changing causes.
Although every Giving Tuesday project benefits FHSU students, each focuses on an area of need. One of these causes includes the Heart of America Patriot Foundation, which matches gifts dollar-for-dollar to pay forward a Fort Hays State education to the dependents and spouses of fallen or disabled veterans. You can support other causes this Giving Tuesday by lending a hand to help students travel to educational and research conferences and more.
Groups like Eta Sigma Delta, a tourism and hospitality honor society, are planning an immersive trip to an international travel show in New York. Likewise, Speech-Language Pathology students will travel to Seattle to present their research at a conference. Other organizations, like FHSU’s Criminal Justice Club, need resources for students who go above and beyond for their campus and community.
You can assist the Alpha Sigma Alpha sorority in maintaining their operations and activities or by contributing toward a UTV for the FHSU Rodeo. No matter which cause resonates most with you, Giving Tuesday is a great time to pay it forward to students at Fort Hays State University. Visit ifedthetiger.com to make your gift online or mail your check payable to the FHSU Foundation to PO Box 1060 in Hays, KS 67601, and write the project that you’d like to support in the memo line. Please note that donations are tax-deductible, and every gift matters.
