Fort Hays State University secures additional funding for NW Kansas Live and Learn Scholarship

HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State is pleased to announce the renewal of funding for the NW Kansas Live and Learn Scholarship for the upcoming year. The university has received another year’s commitment from the Dane G. Hansen Foundation, bringing its total financial support for the project to $810,000 since the scholarship’s inception in 2019.
The NW Kansas Live and Learn Scholarship has played a pivotal role in supporting a diverse range of academic programs at FHSU. Since 2019, scholarship funds have been allocated to 69 students, spanning various academic disciplines. These recipients have not only demonstrated exceptional academic success but also hail from 24 counties within the Dane G. Hansen Foundation service area.
Dane G. Hansen Foundation’s continued investment in education through this scholarship program has made a significant impact on the lives of students in Northwest Kansas. A noteworthy achievement is that 28 of the 33 graduates who have successfully completed their degree programs with the support of this scholarship are now either residing in or contributing their professional services to the Dane G. Hansen service area.
This funding renewal underscores the commitment of both FHSU and the Dane G. Hansen Foundation to empower students and enhance educational opportunities in Northwest Kansas. The collaborative efforts have not only facilitated academic growth but have also contributed to building a skilled workforce that positively impacts the region.
