Effectiveness and side-effects of new semaglutide drugs topic of next Science Café

HAYS, Kan. – Fort Hays State University’s next Science Café will be held on Monday, Feb. 26.
This month’s presentation, entitled “Ozempic and Wegovy; How do the new diabetes and weight-loss drugs work,” is sponsored by FHSU’s Science and Mathematics Education Institute (SMEI). The event begins at 7 p.m. at The Venue in Thirsty’s Brew Pub & Grill, 2704 Vine.
Dr. Kent Rohleder, instructor of physics at Fort Hays State, will discuss the new semaglutide drugs Ozempic and Wegovy, including their mechanisms of function as well as some information about effectiveness, off-label use, and side-effects.
