- Based on the evaluation of the efficacy of current transition programming for freshmen, make recommendations on whether or not programs should be continued or discontinued, and any modifications for those programs recommended for continuance

By June 2024, increase the university persistence rates and graduation rates for all degree-seeking classifications by an average of 4 percentage points.
Strategy: Imagine, research, and recommend next steps in the adoption of artificial intelligence technology to improve student learning

Action Steps:
Through the process of development the task force should consider a proposal that includes the following:
- Seamless, uniform, and quality advising for all FHSU on-line and on campus students*
- Utilization of evidence-based advising practices
- Student-centered focus
- Scalability of the advising structure and/or model
- Financial implications of advising programs and practices
This charge can be accomplished by considering the following points:
- Conduct internal review and analysis of current advising model and practices at FHSU.
- Conduct an external review of current advising practices/solutions, using peer institutions and national data.
- Consider and present option(s) for an advising program/model/solution that addresses the components in the charge.
- Consider and present options for financing an advising solution(s).

*While we know that advising for our cross-border international students is important, this proposal will not seek to address an advising structure that includes cross-border students at our partner institutions. Rather, this will be addressed through the internationalization structure plan.

Strategy: Improve, expand and institutionalize community and civic engagement as a foundational, sustained learning experience for all FHSU students through curricular, co-curricular, and other activities

- Work with the appointed implementation team to understand status of FHSU’s current civic engagement activities as determined in the environmental scan
- If needed, establish an advisory group to oversee review of new proposals
- Review the outcome of the comprehensive environmental scan from strategy 5.3 to identify gaps and opportunities as well as stakeholders not currently engaged
- Study models and adapt/adopt staff and faculty reward structures that attract development of new civic engagement proposals
- In collaboration with the Provost, determine funding for new engagement activities
