Jennifer Colby, MSW, LSCSW, LCAC
Instructor
Hello students! My name is Jennifer Colby, and I will be teaching this class this semester. I have been teaching virtual classes for the past couple of years, and I have also done some teaching on-campus. I am an adjunct professor, so this means I have another full-time job that I do when I am not teaching. I currently work as an outpatient therapist in private practice at Serenity Psychological Services & Consulting, LLC. I have been a therapist for over eleven years, but I have been in the mental health field for 22 years. My specialties include addictions, women's issues, trauma, sexual assault, domestic violence, depression, anxiety, bi-polar disorder, PTSD, and personality disorders. I have spent the last year working with more couples, which has added a new and exciting chapter to my private practice.
When I am not teaching or working as a therapist, I enjoy spending time with my family. It is important to take care of yourself if you continue in the mental health field, so I enjoy spending time outdoors, fishing, swimming, fossil hunting, and gardening. I am really looking forward to this semester, and I hope you are as well!
