Sustainability Certificate
The Sustainability Certificate is interdisciplinary, comprised of only 12 credit hours taken from among four programs (Geosciences, Interdisciplinary Studies, Biology, and Physics). Students gain a foundation in sustainability theory that can be applied to all majors and all careers.
Sustainability Certificate Requirements
All courses listed below are (3 CR HRS)- GSCI 101 Elements of Physical Geography
OR PHYS 102 Physical Science - TECH 391 Technology in Society
OR ECON 300 Economic Ideas & Current Issues
OR IDS 390 Technology in Society
OR IDS 300 Economic Ideas & Current Issues - LDRS 407 Global Challenges
OR IDS 407 Global Challenges - BIOL 499 Global Environmental Issues
OR BIOL 200 Humans & the Environment
OR IDS 499 Global Environmental Issues
No grade lower than a "C" is acceptable for the classes taken to complete the certificate.
Printed certificates can be issued, by request, to individuals upon successful completion of courses and requirements. All individuals meeting certificate requirements will need to register on-line for a printed certificate. Course and project completion will be confirmed before certificate is printed. Certificate requests will be reviewed for approval twice each semester, approved certificates will be printed after the close of the semester in which the last relevant course is taken or in which the certificate was requested. Please allow 2-4 weeks for processing.
