ACT On-Campus (formerly Residual) Test Information
- The ACT On-Campus test is available to prospective students in the application process, admitted students, and registered students who were unable to take the National ACT test on a regularly scheduled test date. ACT On-Campus testing is restricted to on-campus administrations. Students should not take the ACT On-Campus test unless they cannot take a national administration of the ACT because of a deadline requirement.
ACT On-Campus tests are scored by FHSU Testing Services. The tests are not scored by ACT and, therefore, are not official transferable scores like those provided by the ACT National Test. ACT On-Campus test scores are valid only at Fort Hays State University and cannot be transferred to any other institution or agency. No reports will be issued by Fort Hays State University (or ACT) to high schools, colleges, or scholarship agencies.
The ACT On-Campus test consists of the multiple-choice English, Math, Reading, and Science sections. The Writing test is NOT administered.
Please note that ACT On-Campus testing is not provided at FHSU during the months of February, September, and October.

Restrictions
- The ACT On-Campus test is not a practice test.
- You must be registered or intend to register at FHSU to be eligible for the test.
- Testing is restricted to on-campus administrations. The test cannot be administered at any off-campus locations.
- A minimum of 60 days must elapse before another ACT On-Campus test may be taken. Scores achieved before the minimum elapsed time will be cancelled without refund.
- ACT restricts the number of times a student may take the ACT to 12 times total. ACT On-Campus testing does count toward that maximum. Scores that exceed the maximum will be canceled without refund.
Due to these restrictions and limited test date availability, it may be advisable to register for a national ACT test date to meet enrollment requirements.
Fees and Resources
Test Administration Fee: $75 payable on the day of the test by cash or check only. Credit and debit cards are not accepted for payment. Please note that this is not the same fee charged by ACT when registering on the ACT website for a national test administration. This fee applies only to the ACT On-Campus test at FHSU.
