Office of the Provost and Vice President of Academic Affairs

The provost is the chief academic officer for the University. This individual provides leadership, ensures academic accountability, encourages innovation and entrepreneurship, facilitates the work of faculty, staff and students and serves as a public intellectual promoting the culture, spirit and value of the academy. The provost works closely with the president in developing University priorities and in administering program budgets and faculty personnel policies. As a member of the Regents' Council of Chief Academic Officers, the provost participates in a collegial fashion with other academic leaders in system-wide shared governance and coordination.
