Religious Accommodations
Fort Hays State University requires its staff and faculty to reasonably accommodate the religious needs, observances, and practices of their students upon request by the student. Religious accommodation is a change in work schedule, school schedule, or environment made to enable a student to participate in their religious practice or belief without causing undue hardship to FHSU operations or activities. Students may not be discriminated against because of their religious beliefs and practices. It is the goal of FHSU to collaborate with students to ensure religious beliefs are not a barrier to completing coursework, while ensuring that course objectives and standards continue to be met.
How to Access Religious Accommodations
You are required to register with our office, identify your needs, and provide documentation in order to be considered eligible for reasonable accommodations at FHSU. We will review your documentation and visit with you to determine accommodations that will be effective for you. For information on student responsibilities and accommodations, visit our religious accommodations page.
