Intramural Official
Exhibit knowledge of the sport officiating and enforce all rules. Attend weekly club meetings (exceptions may be cleared with the director). All hired staff is expected to look and act professionally and is responsible for purchasing and wearing staff apparel.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Officiate intramural sports (football, volleyball, softball, and basketball)
- Administer events (Tuesday activities, Sunday events, Easter Egg Hunt, etc)
- Set up equipment to start the activity
- Assist director in administration of the activities in the FHSU IM-REC department
- Return equipment to the proper place at the completion of the activity
- Deliver scorecards to the office at the end of daily competition
- Dress appropriately for all intramural activities
- Arrive at designated working area 10 minutes prior to the start of the event
- Attend weekly meeting
- Handle difficult situations and difficult individuals accordingly
- Preparation, setup, and clean up
- Other duties as assigned
Experience/Qualifications
- Current FHSU student
- Work-study recipients preferred
- Demonstrate adequate knowledge of the sport officiating
- Display assertiveness and handle difficult situations with a smile
- Complete Techniques of Officiating-HHP 380 (OPTIONAL)
- Experience officiating in the community (OPTIONAL)
Skills
- Adequate people skills
- Able to enforce all FHSU Intramural rules and regulations
Certificates, License, Registration
- KSHSAA registered officials preferred
- CPR/First Aid certifications preferred

Hours & Pay
Typically these positions range in hours from 10-20 hours per week. Because these positions are through FHSU Work Study, the pay is minimum wage.
