- 9 additional hours in Public History
- Historiography 879
- Two seminars -- 6 credit hours. Student must pass with a grade of an A or B.
- 6 hours of traditional History electives
- HIST 379 Historical Methods for students who have not taken Historical Methods or an equivalent research methods course as an undergraduate. (This adds 3 credit hours to the degree.)
- Satisfactory performance on the Written Comprehensive Exam as outlined in #6 of the Thesis option, except that exam length shall be 8 hours.
- Any exceptions must be approved by the department Chair
