Kansas Idea Network of Biomedical Research Excellence (K-INBRE)
Letter from the Campus Coordinator:
Dear Tigers,
Whether you are a new or continuing student, you are an important part of our research community. I am privileged to serve as your K-INBRE Campus Coordinator and hope you will pursue the many avenues of research with our exceptional set of research investigators.
I started my research experience as an FHSU undergraduate, was assisted by K-INBRE funds, and now get to help others at my own alma mater pursue an avenue that has been a great joy of my life. Take it from me, the experiences and nuances of research that you can participate in can change your life. This life change can be supported by the K-INBRE program, where its goal is to strengthen the ability of Kansas researchers to compete effectively for NIH funds. Mentors, junior and senior investigators, as well as undergraduates, graduate students, and post-doctoral fellows can be supported with cutting edge technology within the theme of Cell and Developmental Biology. This competitive program brings together NIH-funded mentors, trainees, and promising new investigators to drive forward a major statewide initiative to build Kansas’ strength in this critical life sciences research area. Please join me as we focus on integration, communication, and training of our up and coming researchers.
Best wishes for an extraordinary research experience, and GO TIGERS!
James Balthazor PhD
FHSU K-INBRE Campus Coordinator
