Ashley Comeau
Currently Of Counsel at Jeter Turner Sook Baxter LLP, Ashley Comeau practices law in a broad range of civil matters, including business and corporate law, real estate law, estate planning, and probate. Ashley earned a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science degree, with Minors in Communication and Spanish, from Fort Hays State University (2008), and a Juris Doctor from Washburn University School of Law (2011). She is licensed to practice law in the state and federal courts of Kansas.
Previous legal experience includes corporate, in-house counsel as well as civil litigation experience at the Kansas City firm of Wagstaff & Cartmell, LLP. Ashley also has a background in public relations, uniquely allowing her to counsel clients with respect to strategic communications and not only the legal implications of decisions and actions, but any potential corresponding public relations implications as well. Her passion for public relations began as an FHSU undergraduate, when Ashley spent a fall semester working in New York City in the Press and Public Affairs office at the United States Mission to the United Nations.
Ashley and her husband Adam also own Brant's Market, a historic meat market located in Plainville and Lucas, Kansas. The original location is one of the oldest meat markets in the country and the recipient of several awards, including the honor of being named one of the "8 Wonders of Kansas Commerce" and the North Central Kansas Regional Retail Business of the year in 2021. Together, they enjoy pursuing opportunities to keep rural Kansas alive—and thriving—and love living in their hometown of Plainville, Kansas, with their son Calvin
