About Tomi:
Tomi Schwandt is an instructor for Political Science. She received a Bachelor of Arts in Political Science degree from Fort Hays State University (2007), and a Master of Public Administration (2010) degree from Kansas State University.
She has experience as campaign staff for state and national elections, drafting legislation, and working for the Department of Defense. Her research interests include higher education policy, student success strategies, and civic engagement. Tomi is a proud a military spouse and a published children’s book author.
Tomi is an avid reader – particularly nonfiction and public policy related. Her most recent favorite reads include Evicted, What the Eyes Don’t See, The Line Becomes a River, There are No Children Here and Dopesick. She is always open for new great book recommendations and discussions.
