Student Emergency Assistance Fund
Fort Hays State University is no longer reviewing applications for the Student Emergency Assistance Fund at this time. We apologize for any inconvenience.
About
The Student Emergency Assistance Fund provides temporary financial assistance to Fort Hays State University students who have demonstrated a need and have exhausted all other forms of financial assistance.
Applications are reviewed and approved/denied on an ongoing basis. A student committee, in conjunction with Division of Student Affairs staff, review all applications and decide how financial assistance is dispersed.
- The Student Emergency Assistance Fund is made possible through generous donors and the FHSU Foundation. Gifts of $10 - $1,000 have been made to this fund in support of students in need.
- Student information within the application remains confidential and is removed prior to being reviewed by the committee.
- The weekly deadline to submit is Sunday at midnight.
- By Thursday of that same week, students will be notified of whether their application was approved/denied.
- If a students’ application is approved, a check will be mailed to them via USPS that same week.
- If a students’ application is denied, their application will be kept on file for future consideration of financial assistance.
- No applicant will receive more than $500 in financial assistance.
- Please take into consideration that students may apply for emergency funds more than once. However, priority may be given to first-time applicants.
Eligibility
- Students must have exhausted all other forms of financial assistance.
- Students must be currently enrolled at FHSU as either an on-campus or online student.
- Special emphasis will be given to students who would otherwise have to drop out of FHSU classes due to severe financial strain.
