Review the information below for details about on-campus phone services at FHSU.
When prompted, enter your TigerNetID username and password to open or download resources listed on this page. If you have not yet activated your TigerNetID or if you don't know your TigerNetID username and password, see the TigerNetID page to activate or recover your TigerNetID login.
- It is no longer necessary to dial 9 to reach an off-campus number.
- For long distance, dial 1 followed by the area code and number.
- For local off-campus calls, dial the full 10-digit phone number (include the 785 area code). View local prefixes (Hays, KS).
- Pressing # after dialing a 4-digit extension or phone number will send the call more quickly.
- Record your personal voicemail greeting to replace the default greeting (see voicemail instructions). VoIP phones have built-in message waiting lights (in the upper right corner).

- To request Speed Dials or changes to existing Speed Dials, download (save) and follow the instructions on this PDF form.
Employees may submit Phone Service requests using the Technology Support Request Form (select Relationship = Employee, and choose Phone Services (Caller ID, CommPortal, etc) as the Service Type).
- To answer or make calls from your office phone using your computer or personal device (when off campus), MaX UC can be used. It must be installed on your computer/device and activated for your office phone number.
- To request this, submit a Technology Support Request Form (select Relationship = Employee, and choose Phone Services (Caller ID, CommPortal, etc) as the Service Type). For example: "Please assist with installing Max UC on my computer/device and activate it for my office phone number, ext. 9999."
FHSU recommends Pingo for any faculty/staff arranging international calls from campus telephones. This method has been approved by the Department of Administration and Finance. You may sign up for this service at www.pingo.com.
