Library Services for Cross-Border Partners
With a TigerNetID, faculty and students from the cross-border programs in Cambodia, Senegal, Malaysia, and other locations abroad have access to electronic library services and resources from anywhere in the world.
Using the Library
More than 75% of the library’s resources are available electronically from anywhere in the world. Use search.library.fhsu.edu as an alternative to the library homepage for faster loading times and direct access to search the library's catalog and apply the filter to show only those with "Full Text Online".
While the library catalog retrieves search results for most of the material within the research databases, you can often create stronger search queries by searching directly within the research databases.
Create an interlibrary loan account to request electronic delivery of articles, document delivery (PDF scans of up to 50 pages from books on Forsyth Library shelves), and ebook chapters.
At this time, it is not feasible to mail physical materials abroad to our cross-border partners through interlibrary loan.
For Your Teaching & Learning
Library instruction is a beneficial supplement to teach students how to use the library and learn essential skills needed to successfully complete research-based assignments and projects. Use the Instruction Request form to describe your needs. Below are some of the many options for incorporating library instruction:
- Asynchronous – Collaborate with librarians to have videos, course guides, tutorials, or Blackboard modules created for reinforcing research practices and building information literacy skills.
- Synchronous – Schedule an instruction session via Zoom to have a librarian visit with your students virtually.
Several tutorials have been created to help teach research and information literacy skills to students from anywhere in the world. These can easily be integrated into Blackboard courses or sent directly to students.
- The Subject & Course Guides provide time-saving tips when doing research-related assignments. They often feature a list of recommended resources and research advice that are specific to a subject area or the assignment for a specific course.
- Library tutorials are quick instructional tools to learn about the library, how to use Forsyth Library specifically, build research skills, and learn how to do common academic writing and citing practices.
- Interactive APA citation games guide students through the citation process and several practice examples. At the end of the tutorial, students receive a certificate of completion to allow for simple grading.
Need a different tutorial? Want a custom guide created for your program or your course? Contact your liaison to have a tutorial or guide created and customized to fit your needs.
