Fort Hays State University Art Collection
The FHSU Art Collection actually consists of many collections; art that Art and Design Programs has acquired, as well as individual pieces and collections of art donated by alumni and friends of the university. A diverse range of artistic endeavor is represented in our Collection. It includes sculpture, paintings, ceramic objects, prints, drawings, photographs, and decorative arts. Notable holdings are the Stroup Scrolls, donated by the founder of the FHSU Nursing program, Leora Stroup; the Tim Johnson Mexican Ceramics Collection; Collected Works from the National Small Print, Painting, and Drawing Exhibition; and works by noted 20th Century American painter, Birger Sandzen.
