BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES MINOR
A minor in Biological Sciences can be added to any major and consists of 20 credit hours. At least 8 hours must be taken at Fort Hays State University.
Required:
- BIOL 180 – Principles of Biology (3 credit hours)
- BIOL 180L – Principles of Biology Lab (1 credit hour)
Select two of the three options 8 hours total:
- BIOL 250 – Botany Lab (3 credit hours) &
- BIOL 250L – Botany Lab (1 credit hour)
- BIOL 260 – Zoology (3 credit hours) &
- BIOL 260L - Zoology Lab (1 credit hour)
- BIOL 490 - General Microbiology (3 credit hours) &
- BIOL 490L – General Microbiology Lab
8 hours of upper-division Biology (students’ choice): 300 and above courses. Here are some of the courses to choose from:
- BIOL 325 – Genetics & Lab
- BIOL 330 – Plant Anatomy & Lab
- BIOL 345 – Human Anatomy & Lab
- BIOL 346 – Human Physiology & Lab
- BIOL 395 – Ecology & Lab
- BIOL 420 – Evolution
- BIOL 435 – Cellular Biology & Lab
- BIOL 450 – Comparative Anatomy & Lab
- BIOL 495 – Plant Physiology & Lab
