Scholarships are available for undergraduate and graduate students majoring in English. You can apply for most through the Financial Assistance Office system.
Recipient must be either full-time or part-time, on-campus, undergraduate student majoring in English. Must have a minimum GPA of 3.0. Scholarship is renewable.
Available to students majoring in English, Sociology, or Business Management.
Available for students in the English MA program; must be full-time with 3.3 GPA.
Recipients must be classified as a junior or senior, majoring in English, Classics, Languages, Literature, Philosophy, History, Art of the Ancient World, or a related discipline and possess a 3.5 GPA.

Recipient must be an undergraduate, on-campus, full-time student within English Programs. Must have a minimum 3.5 GPA in English courses and 3.0 GPA overall. Must be a resident of Kansas. Must be a junior, with the funds to be used senior year. Consideration will be given to a student with financial need.
Beginning and returning graduate students in English, enrolled full time (9 hours or more). Minimum GPA 3.5 in English.
Preference to students majoring in English who plan to teach.
Junior English major, 3.0 GPA or better, renewable for senior year if criteria are met.
Award for English majors who plan to teach in a secondary school.
Available to English majors who qualify as non-traditional students.
Preference for English graduate students enrolled in the Summer MA program from western Kansas.

The recipients of these scholarships shall be a juniors or seniors properly enrolled in the College of Arts and Sciences at Fort Hays State University, majoring in English with concentration in Writing. Each applicant must submit an example of creative writing with the applications.
Available to graduate students in English.
The recipient of this scholarship shall be an undergraduate (junior or senior) or graduate student intending to choose a career in education, specifically English or the Humanities. Preference given to student from Western Kansas.
Recipients must be classified as juniors or seniors majoring in English with a minimum 3.0 GPA.
Awarded to English majors.
Recipient will be a student properly enrolled in Fort Hays State University majoring in English. Preference will be given to a student in the Masters program with next preference for a student of sophomore, junior or senior status.

Two recipients will be selected each year for this scholarship. Recipients must be a junior or senior undergraduate student and/or graduate student majoring in English with a Writing Concentration. Preference will be given to students with a minimum 3.5 GPA in their major field of study who demonstrate financial need.

The recipient of this scholarship must be a junior or senior student studying within the areas of English, History, Health and Human Performance, Journalism, or Media Studies at FHSU. The recipient must have graduated from a Kansas high school or been home-schooled in Kansas.
