Kansas Geographic Alliance (KGA) is a not-for-profit organization dedicated to advancing geographic literacy among the citizens of Kansas. Originally founded in 1991 through supportive funding by the National Geographic Society Education Foundation and the Kansas State Department of Education, with additional support from Fort Hays State University and Kansas State University. The KGA is primarily a professional development organization for educators. Membership is open to individuals in education, government, business, and the general public.
KGA MISSION: To improve, promote, and support the teaching of geography in K-12 classrooms throughout Kansas. We welcome participation and offer support to public, parochial, and home schools.

Kansas Geography Educator of the Year
2020 Nominations will be accepted through July 15. Winner will be announced at the Kansas Social Studies Conference at the end of October. To nominate a Kansas Geography Teacher or Educator please complete and submit the Kansas Geography Educator of the Year nomination form.
