DUNIS AFRICA
EVOLVING PARTNERSHIPS: FORT HAYS STATE UNIVERSITY AND DUNIS AFRICA
Fort Hays State University’s partnership with DUNIS Africa originally started with BEM Dakar. BEM is a private school that follows the French model of higher education. Through partnerships with FHSU and other foreign institutions, the school grew quickly and decided to separate the international partnership programs from the local programs. The international programs were moved to a newly formed entity called Dakar University of International Studies (DUNIS) in 2019. In 2023, Dakar University of International Studies was renamed DUNIS Africa as the institution expanded to some neighboring countries - Cote d’Ivoire, Cameroon, and The Gambia. DUNIS Africa is a private university and follows the American model of higher education with all courses taught using English as the language of instruction.
