Overview
Fort Hays State University encourages and supports the development and delivery of high-quality academic programs abroad through our partnerships with other universities, colleges, governmental agencies, and special organizations. Our international partnerships help provide accessible programs online as well as study abroad opportunities to fulfill education goals of students globally.
FHSU currently offers these types of partnerships:
- Cross-border: Students receive FHSU courses and credit without leaving their home country. FHSU sends faculty to live and teach at the partner school.
- Pathway (4+0, 3+1, 2+2, etc.): Students receive FHSU courses and credit in the U.S.
- The displayed numbers represent the number of years spent in each location (home country + host country).
- Examples:
- 4+0 = 4 years in Cambodia; 0 years in U.S.
- 3+1 = 3 years in China; 1 year in U.S.
- 2+2 = 2 years in Senegal; 2 years in U.S.

- On-Campus
- Study Abroad Partnerships: International students travel to Hays, KS to study ESL, undergraduate or graduate education at FHSU.
- Student Exchange Partnerships
- Online
FHSU faculty visit foreign institutions for teaching or research collaborations, and partners send their faculty to FHSU to do the same.
International internships can be done as a standalone program for academic credit or in coordination with a study abroad. Many of our affiliated program providers offer internships in many countries around the world. Learn More!
