HPMC Packing List
CAMP DRESS CODE: WEAR COMFORTABLE CLOTHING that allows you to participate without causing a distraction…NO FLIP FLOPS. There is no need to dress up for attending concerts.
WEAR CAMP T-SHIRT FOR ALL PERFORMANCES with your nicest pair of short or jeans and sneakers…NO FLIP FLOPS. Student Honor Recital performers may dress up for their performance if they wish.
Packing List
- Clothing as needed
- Toiletries: soap, shampoo, toothpaste, toothbrush, deodorant, sunscreen, shower shoes, etc.
- Medications
- Linens: XL twin size sheets, pillow, blankets, etc. If you don’t have extra-long sheets, two regular flat twin sheets can be used, but a normal fitted sheet will not fit.
- Mattress pad if desired.
- Small fan for dorm room
- Alarm clock: counselors will provide wake-up calls, but some campers may prefer to have an alarm.
- Other items that could be useful: umbrella, water bottle, hangers, jacket in case of cool weather
- Spending money
- Laptops/tablets/game consoles are not recommended due to chance of loss or theft.
- Campers are discouraged from bringing high-value items.
Instruments and Music
- Instrument(s) in good working order
- Folding stand
- Supplies (reeds, rosin, cleaning clothes, cork grease, valve oil, mutes, etc.)
- Pencils
- Drummers: sticks, brushes, and mallets
- Bring any music you plan to work on while at camp
PLEASE NOTE: High Plains Music Camp and Fort Hays State University are not responsible for lost, broken, or stolen personal property. We suggest all personal items be labeled. All labeled lost and found items may be picked up at the camp office up to one week following camp. Unlabeled lost and found items will be donated to a local charity one week after camp has ended.
