Exploring Legal Careers
Why are you thinking about a career in the law? Do you like helping others solve problems? Do you enjoy reading and writing? Do you relish detail work and research?
How some of our FHSU alumni decided to go to law school:
“I was always interested in government, politics, and policy in school, so law school seemed like the right fit after my political science degree. Whether it be law or politics or any career that you work with and on behalf of people or clients, it is important to be a strong advocate.”
“I decided to go to law school because I knew I wanted to help people, whether it be those who have been victimized or through estate planning for example. I also really enjoy a challenge and I felt this would be the perfect avenue for me.”
“[I had] never seriously considered law school until I was a Junior at FHSU. Not only did I want to challenge myself academically, but I thought the field of law was a fascinating area that could open a lot of doors for me.”
While there are a lot of reasons to consider the law, there is not one right reason. Invest the time necessary to learn about the profession and whether it is the right fit for your career goals.
Research the profession to find out what the work is really like.
